Poland - Monsanto Vegetables Seeds' Tomato and Rootstock Conference supports customers with market and technology information

Karpacz, Poland - Monsanto’s Vegetables Seed business held a Tomato and Rootstock Conference in order to supply its key tomato growers in Poland with the latest information of the European market and preview upcoming innovations.

The Tomato and Rootstock conference was opened by Björn Neumann, Area Lead, East & Africa and Ferdi Veenstra, Commercial Lead, Poland. They highlighted the importance of both the tomato and Poland in the strategy of Monsanto. De Ruiter Seeds and Seminis brands are strengthened by Monsanto’s advanced technology, therefore innovative tomato varieties are now being introducing to the Polish market.

“Focused on fulfilling the customers’ needs, wants, and delivering relevant information is key for us.” noted Csaba Czinege, Marketing Manager Poland, Central Europe, the Balkans and Greece. “We are seeking opportunities to share information with our customers to bring them added value during our Living Proof events and support their success in using our Seminis and De Ruiter varieties. The Tomato Conference is a great example how committed we are to meeting customer needs.”

The event was a prefect occasion to present De Ruiter products available today in the tomato portfolio, like the already popular Starbuck F1 and Admiro F1. Katarzina Tykarska, Technology Development Representative explained the features and benefits of the newly introduced, high-potential tomato varieties: Listell F1, Torero F1 and Komeett F1. The Team proudly announced the latest success of De Ruiter, the Polish 2011 Fresh Market Award winner Tomimaru Muchoo F1 pink tomato.

After the key note presentations, customers had the freedom to choose according to their interest from 12 different workshops:
  • Market and chain information from Poland and the countries that create competition for the Polish growers. Latest news was shared by presenters from the Netherlands, Spain and Turkey.
  • Innovative technologies for glasshouse sector.
  • International Monsanto Team gave presentation on several topics like global tomato market perspectives, latest trends in tomato breeding, reasons to believe in rootstocks and how to secure seed health and deliver the best quality.

This Living Proof event demonstrated to customers the quality of Monsanto’s great products and expertise. By sharing information and making it accessible and understandable, customers could see, feel the superiority of the tomato product portfolio and learn the underlying facts of the ways of Monsanto.
