WASHINGTON -- DuPont Co. spent $1.2 million in the second quarter to lobby the federal government on the genetically engineered seed industry, climate change and energy issues, according to a disclosure report.

DuPont's lobbying spending stayed level with the $1.2 million the company spent during the same period last year and also with the $1.2 million the company spent in the first quarter of 2010.

In the April-to-June period, DuPont lobbied Congress, the White House, the Department of State, Department of Commerce, Department of Defense, Department of Energy, Environmental Protection Agency, Food and Drug Administration, Department of Homeland Security, Department of Transportation, the U.S. Department of Treasury, U.S. Trade Representative and the U.S. Department of Agriculture, according to the report.
